YourKeep is designed around one simple principle:
Your private data should remain private — even from us.
1. Data You Store
YourKeep is a local-first application. All files you choose to protect remain under your control.
Before any backup is created, your files are encrypted locally on your own device.
We cannot access:
- Your files
- Your encryption password
- Your encryption keys
- Your backup contents
- Your cloud storage accounts
Because of this architecture, we cannot recover your data if you lose your recovery password or backup fragments.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide software activation and support.
This may include:
- Email address
- Generated device identifier (Machine ID)
- Software version
- Operating system version
This information is never used to identify or access your protected files.
3. No Access to Your Backup Data
YourKeep never stores your encrypted backup fragments on our servers.
Backup fragments are stored only in locations that you choose, such as:
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- OneDrive
- iCloud Drive
- External drives
- Local storage
We do not receive, transmit, or retain your encrypted backup data.
4. Local Encryption
All encryption and decryption operations take place entirely on your device.
Your encryption password never leaves your device.
We do not possess any master key, recovery key, or backdoor capable of decrypting your data.
5. Crash Reports
If you choose to enable crash reporting, anonymous diagnostic information may be collected to improve software stability.
Crash reports are not intended to contain:
- Your files
- Passwords
- Encryption keys
- Recovery information
Crash reporting is optional where supported.
6. Third-Party Services
Depending on your platform, YourKeep may interact with third-party services such as:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play
- Microsoft Store
- License activation providers
- Payment processors
- Crash reporting providers
These services operate under their own privacy policies.
7. Children’s Privacy
YourKeep is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law.
8. Data Retention
License information is retained only as long as necessary to provide software activation, customer support, and comply with legal obligations.
We never retain copies of your encrypted backups.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Object to processing where applicable
